Mabon blessings!

The wheel of the year turns to Mabon, the fall equinox, where day and night stand in perfect balance. When the Sun hits zero degrees of Libra, we enter the second harvest—a season for giving thanks, tying up loose ends, and moving gently into the darker half of the year. This exact moment sets the energetic tone we carry all the way through to Samhain. To really get what this equinox is doing, though, we can look past basic stereotypes and use astrology to read the deep geometry of the sky.

In vibrational astrology, signs are energetic frequencies rather than just personality lists. Libra links to the second harmonic, which is all about polarity, mirroring, and finding balance or partnership. While the first harmonic deals with raw existence, the second harmonic introduces the other person—the awareness of contrast and how two different forces interact. Zero degrees of Libra marks the pure start of this harmonic pulse, turning our focus toward symmetry, beauty, and matching our outer lives with our inner values.

Every equinox chart tells a story through its planetary rulers and geometric ties, and this season brings some fascinating layers. Venus rules Libra, setting a tone of grace and connection. To dig deeper, we look at midpoints, which show the hidden psychological currents running beneath the surface.

Take Pluto sitting right at the midpoint between the Sun and Uranus at fourteen degrees. Midpoint structures blend the energy of those planets into a powerful pressure point for growth. The Sun is our core identity, while Uranus brings sudden wake-up calls and shakes things up. By sitting right between them, Pluto demands deep transformation and rebirth. This setup means the weeks ahead will ask us to shed old versions of ourselves. We are being pushed to look at where our personal freedom bumps up against our need for real connection, clearing out what no longer fits so we can grow.

At the same time, Venus sits right at the midpoint of the Moon and Mars. The Moon handles our deep emotional needs and vulnerabilities, while Mars is our drive and temper. When Venus steps into this spot, she acts like an alchemist, smoothing out the friction between what we feel and how we fight for it. This brings a surge of creative passion, emotional healing, and the courage to stand up for what we love.

To track this energy as we move from Mabon toward Samhain, the moon gives us a clear rhythm to follow. The lunar month opens with a New Moon in Libra on October 10, 2026, bringing a fresh start for relationships right in line with the equinox. As the moonlight builds, the cycle peaks with a glowing Full Moon in Aries on October 26, 2026, helping us ground all these inner shifts into something real and physical just as the veil thins.

As modern practitioners, we can consciously work with this cosmic pattern. Mabon isn't just a date on a calendar; it is an active rhythm of nature helping us shift gears as the leaves turn. By honoring Libra's harmonic balance, navigating those deep midpoint shifts, and tracking the moon's pull toward the dark, we align ourselves with the season and prepare our hearts for Samhain.

How do you plan to weave these themes of harmony, self love, loving relationships, balance and transformation into your personal rituals or practice this season?

Harvest Blessings and abundant love to all!
